Nostalgia

Remembering the days of real mail from real people, delivered by postmen who actually wore a uniform.

These mailboxes are in a tiny mountain community in central Idaho, a place known as Waha.  It was here where my grandparents built a three-story home overlooking the valley where the Snake River ends.  These mailboxes were made obsolete a couple of years ago and were replaced with the standard community metal contraption with keys.  Somehow, I feel like this was such a loss for the community.  They did not remove these old ones, but it will only be a matter of time before they fall into such disrepair from disuse that someone will tear them down.

When was the last time you wrote a letter by hand and mailed it to someone?
